I've worked for an inspection facility in the Midwest for over a year now and I would really like to further my career and understanding of Metrology. Training opportunities at my current employer are limited to state grants and the opinions of an Old School Quality engineer. We use analog probe CMMs (PC-DMIS CAD++ 2014) and GOM inspect with a Blue Light Optical Device. Is there any learning materials out there to learn how to take advantage of these software packages other than handing Hexagon or Capture 3D/GOM your money?? And Is there any way to get the software at home legally or illegally? My biggest annoyance in this industry is lack of information and accessibility in using these software packages (Unlike AutoDesk CAD software that is relatively easy to find information).
TL;DR Want to learn more about programming and inspection within applicable software packages.
